What this method creates
The S-Well combines an initial hold, a first build, an intermediate tangent, and a second build or drop curve. You can also specify a final hold section. It operates in the selected vertical-section plane.
How to use it
- Open the S-Well tab.
- Select a target or enter Northing, Easting, and TVD.
- Enter five of the seven parameter values: Hold Length 1, Dogleg Severity 1, Hold Angle, Hold Length 2, Dogleg Severity 2, Final Inclination, and Final Hold.
- Leave the other two values for the solver and choose Calculate.
- Review the resulting station rows and the Section View.
Checks
Confirm the signs of the two curve rates, the intermediate tangent angle, the final inclination, and that your target is reachable with the specified geometry.
