Overview
Build/Turn uses build rate and turn rate, or a target-driven solving method, to produce a three-dimensional curve. It is useful when the trajectory cannot remain in one vertical section plane.
Choose a method
The available choices include holding a build/turn rate, Tangent to Point, Online by TVD, Align by Inclination, and Point. Some modes require the rate inputs; others solve for a curve based on a desired depth, inclination, azimuth, or target position.
Workflow
- Open Build/Turn and select the needed method.
- Enter the active fields and target coordinates where applicable.
- Click Calculate.
- Inspect the resulting direction, inclination, DLS, and 3D trajectory before appending the next section.
