Common Questions and Troubleshooting
Solve common setup, targeting, import, and anti-collision questions.
Why is my target missing?
Check the target's scope/association with the active design, its reference coordinates, and whether you are using a planning method that supports selecting it. Open Targets to confirm the entry before returning to the planner.
Why are offset wells missing?
Open Offsets, expand the correct company/project/pad, verify the search and surface-radius filters, select the intended designs, and choose Apply Offsets. Confirm the imported well locations and CRS if expected offsets are far away.
Why are grid and local coordinates different?
Grid coordinates are projected global coordinates; Local N/E values are relative to a chosen origin. A local shift or a true/grid display rotation can change the displayed relative coordinates without moving the physical grid position.
Why did an Actual design become read-only?
Actual designs represent definitive survey data and are intended to be protected from planning edits. Create or duplicate a Plan/Alternate design when you need to calculate a new proposed trajectory.
Why did Separation Factor change without the center distance changing?
The positional uncertainty can change when survey tool assignments, error models, station intervals, or reference details change. Check the survey program, analysis conventions, and the source offsets before comparing numbers.
